Before we go any farther, I want you to know this is not a hyped-up, hard-sell "Earn $1000's of dollars while you sleep" kind of site. If you decide to pursue building your own online business, it will take a lot of learning and it will take time. This is no phony "Business in a Box" money-machine proposition. I have been at this for several years, but it has only been in the past 12 months that I've actually started to figure it out. Now, I've got my own "teacher retirement system."
I am not a million dollar teacher...YET...but I'm on my way, and picking up speed (and more money) every month.
Just like you, I'm a retired educator. I live in Paradise (St. Petersburg, FL)...but my pension comes from the Arizona State Retirement System. It provides me decent money, but I wanted to earn extra retirement income. I didn't want to sub...and I didn't want to work inside. I wanted to spend my days napping at the beach on Treasure Island , and reading all the books I could not read during my 32 years in the school system.
I figured if guys were making money on the Internet, I could too. However, I made the mistake of believing all you had to do was throw up a website, go to bed, and check your account each morning. I purchased several...well, many...worthless courses by so-called Internet Guru's. They didn't get me anywhere, except lighter in the wallet.
My personal teacher retirement plan
Let me be straight with you, I make my income on the Internet from two sources...affiliate marketing (which means I get a commission from selling other people's products) and Google Adsense (allowing ads to other websites to be posted on my pages.) I'll provide you information on both. However, in order to be successful at each, you must commit to a great deal of study...and progressively building your business.
Sure, there have been people who have made a ton of extra income because they were sharp enough to spot an obscure niche with a vacuum, and decided to fill it, but those stories are very rare. In reality, it takes about 2-1/2 years of creating at least one page of original content each day to become an Internet presence.
If you want to build a successful Internet business, you must WORK at it. You must treat your new "job in retirement" like a true job, and spend several hours each day learning more and creating original content. I have 55 different websites working for me each day, and I create at least one new page for at least one of them, (not all) each day.
